Gaurav is gradually putting his past behind him

Gaurav
Dear Lee, Chris, Chris and Emily, Kim, Veronica, Hoss, Subash, Shari, Erik, and Bill and Colleen,

Thank you for coming together to support Gaurav for an entire year.

Gaurav came into Tihar Jail in September 2011, when his mother was taken into custody under the charge of kidnapping a teenage girl. Despite being a college graduate, his mother is emotionally unstable, and in the past has inflicted body wounds on herself to coerce her parents into allowing her to marry Gaurav’s father.

The life inside the prison was a bitter experience for Gaurav, because he became the victim for her to ventilate all her anxiety and anger. These traumas made him rigid and obsessive, and it was only because of the timely intervention of the prison authorities that he was provided emotional counselling that enabled him to express himself.

In 2012, he successfully passed the interview test of St.John’s Boys school and has been enrolled in the school. He is very happy with the school environment, and has started making new friends.

Thank you for supporting his education for an entire year.
